Today the word “consciousness” has become common. People understand the concept of consciousness intellectually. This video, by Andrée Morgana, goes into the development of unity consciousness as a direct, personal experience.
Andrée Morgana on the Development of Unity Consciousness
About Andrée Morgana
For the past 50 years Andrée has been researching the phenomenon of Unity Consciousness that is being explored in our country today as NonDuality and the Quantum Field.
Andrée has been primarily interested in direct experience, which for her, first included the identification of Consciousness and the awakening of Unbounded Consciousness as an all-time reality.
Soon after Andrée began to look into the spiritual realms of our Universe. She began to develop relationships with advanced cosmic souls who were able to teach her to how to look at Unity Consciousness from a different vantage point – outside our universe, free of all boundaries. This is new knowledge in the field of Consciousness today.
Andrée Morgana is the Visionary Founder of Hayehwatha Institute and University of the Universe, two nonprofit organizations located in Mount Shasta, focusing on bringing about a new understanding of Unity Consciousness.
Interview with Andrée Morgana, Founder of University of the Universe, a nonprofit educational organization, located in Mount Shasta, California.
Andrée gives an overview of ancient world traditions, and the location of Mount Shasta, that influenced the start of University of the Universe.
Also Andrée discusses briefly the basic programs to expand your awareness beyond the size of our universe, to come back to original source, from that perspective, and with an expanded awareness to remember when you first entered our universe, our galaxy and earth.

What is an underlying question that gives form to your work or interest in this field?
Our life upon the earth is a limited story of who we are. There are many ways to explore this reality. In addition, there are locations upon the earth that help us to see more of who we are and our place within the universe and beyond. Mount Shasta is one of those places.
What is your personal experience of collective wisdom in groups?
I am the Founder of a nonprofit called the Hayehwatha Institute and a project of the Institute called The Best of Mount Shasta (see below). I have been meditating for 50 years and a Spiritual Teacher since 1969 and have observed on a wide scale, an awakening, growth and depth of spiritual experiences in our country that previous generations did not explore. For 20 years I was a full time teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Program and introduced thousands of people to the experience of consciousness and meditation.
Each year for 12 years I went to Brazil and studied their spiritual traditions to see into the spiritual realms and develop relationships with advanced spiritual beings. I have experienced and understand the leading edge knowledge being introduced into our culture by individuals and groups throughout our country with reference to who we are, where we came from, where we are going and how we can better live upon the earth. This is an incredible time in which we live.
What is it about the work in this field that excites you and connects you to your own deepest self?
For me, the exposure to the experience of consciousness has led to new avenues of discovery. With refinement of perception, within the unboundedness of consciousness one can actually observe the universe and beyond. I feel this is the next level of experience to unfold within our culture, for people to observe their origin, history and destiny with reference to the life of the universe and beyond. What is known as the life we live on the earth is a small portion of who we are.
Please provide a brief storyline or snapshot of what brought you to this work.
Like most people in this day and age I grew up and experienced American life as presented by the environment in which we live. I went this way and that way, not feeling particularly satisfied with any of the experiences. In 1969 I went to India and was introduced to the Vedic culture of the development of consciousness and enlightenment. It was an experience that would absorb my attention for 20 years. Meditating daily and showing others how to meditate and understand enlightenment.
There were extended periods of meditation including a two year period where I meditated for 8-10 hours a day. That changed my life. I no longer felt drawn to knowledge on this earth and wanted to learn from those who had left this earth. My experiences in Brazil led me to several advanced cosmic souls with whom I now work: Hayehwatha and Vovó Anamalia. When I moved to Mount Shasta in 2008 I noticed that the knowledge they were bringing forth changed dramatically. That is when I began to recognize the full value of the location of Mount Shasta, as an opening to allow for greater knowledge and experience.
How would you like to be available to others in this field?
Please see the answers below in Focus Questions: The Best of Mt. Shasta. In recognizing the value of Mount Shasta as a location for advanced spiritual experiences I put together The Best of Mt Shasta to showcase the people of this community who have gained greater experiences for themselves by virtue of living in this area.
What exactly is this phenomenon when groups touch, or are touched by, the intelligence they need?
The Best of Mt Shasta offers a summer conference and festival to showcase the community of Mount Shasta. It is experience that deeply touches those who participate.
Is a field of practice and study beginning to emerge around this phenomenon?
Mount Shasta, as a location, is known worldwide as a spiritual destination. People come for an awakening, they come for deeper spiritual experiences, for personal transformation, and they come to explore the mountain, the lakes, and enjoy the fresh air and pure water.
The people who have chosen to live in Mount Shasta also have these experiences, in a more extended way. People who participate in the workshops given by the local people, receive this deeper experience along with the knowledge given by the presenter
Are more and more people gathering together to experience and explore this phenomenon?
The Best of Mt Shasta Conference & Festival will be offered for the third year in a row this coming summer, July 26-30, 2012. Each year more and more people have attended the conference and festival. We anticipate a large number in 2012 because of the added recognition and acceptance worldwide of the phenomenon of 2012.
If a field of practice and study is emerging, how is it evolving?
People participating in the summer conference and festival are beginning to form friendships and professional relationships with the presenters. This personal connection enables them to continue their studies with the presenters throughout the year, even from a distance. From there new expressions are emerging. This includes myself and the programs of the Hayehwatha Institute.
If a field is evolving, how might we participate more consciously in its evolution?
Exposure to what is occurring in Mount Shasta is needed in addition to coming to Mount Shasta and participating in The Best of Mt Shasta Conference & Festival to personally see what it is all about.
These are Andree’s comments regarding how she developed her awareness to see into the universe and beyond…
Spiritual Development of Andree Morgana Founder Hayehwatha Institute Mount Shasta California
In 1967 I began the Transcendental Meditation Program (known as TM) and in 1969 I went to India for six months to study with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to become a TM teacher. I was with the TM organization 24/7 for 20 years. During that time much of my activities involved setting up TM centers around the country as well as teaching TM and offering weekend workshops and administering month long courses. I taught thousands of people how to meditate.
DEVELOPMENT OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Outside of the practical aspects of the organization my focus was the development of consciousness. This involved practicing TM twice daily, diving into the experiences of TM while teaching others how to meditate and longer meditations during the weekend workshops and the summer month long courses. Over those years with all the meditation there developed a profound direct personal experience of consciousness.
I also participated in a series of courses for TM teachers in Switzerland where I meditated 8-10 hours a day for two years! By that time the experience of consciousness as separate from my other experiences of life was well established. During the courses in Switzerland the focus was on the development of perception of the most refined areas of the mind; the junction between consciousness and the emergence of thought. The Sama Veda was part of my every day experience during that time where I began to see the organizing structure of our universe.
In the 1980’s I went to live with my mother for the last two years of her life. She lived in Berkeley. I visited the University of California Berkeley Library to research their books on the Vedas. They have one of the best collections in the entire world. I spent 8 hours a day for 6 months reading every one of the books they had in English. I had no intentions other than to read all their books, but what I discovered was at the end I had the experience of what is called in the Vedic tradition, Brahman. Not only could I identify consciousness and experience it as separate from all my other experiences of life, but now I found I could see the unboundedness of consciousness spontaneously in all my other experiences of life, without any of those activities overshadowing consciousness. To this day that experience has remained with me.
This is a video from the 1950’s of Swami Brahmanada Saraswati, Jagadguru, Bhagwan Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, who was the teacher of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and who was an inspiration in my process of awakening.

AFRO-BRAZILIAN SPIRITUAL TRADITIONS
In the mid 1990’s I met a group of Americans who were involved in Afro-Brazilian Spiritual Traditions. I was fascinated by the tradition and found it to be entirely different in approach to what I had experienced with Transcendental Meditation. With TM, through silence, one experiences consciousness. In the Brazilian traditions, through the drums and song and dance one enters into an altered state; through noise and vibration! Through the altered state I came into contact with Spiritual Beings that exist in the spiritual dimensions of the universe.
HAYEHWATHA AND VOVO ANAMALIA
With all the years of meditation I was able to distinguish thought as separate from consciousness. I think that served me well in being able to identify the Spiritual Beings. Their presence and their thoughts as they came into my mind were seen as separate from my thoughts. Their thoughts had their personality within the thoughts. From there began my journey with several Spiritual Beings who I continue to work with today, primarily Hayehwatha and Vovó Anamalia. Each year, for twelve years, I went to Brazil to study with Spiritual Teachers within the Afro-Brazilian traditions of Umbanda and Candomblé. I also sponsored some of those teachers to come to the United States to present their knowledge.
With the Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions I was also introduced to the Orixás. The Orixás are energy formations, or vibrations that form the fundamental structures of our universe. These energy formations can also be found on earth as well as within the human physiology. They are understood and experienced through spiritual awakening.
Grupo Ofá Odum Orím – 'Festa da Música' – 2000
What I gained with the Brazilian spiritual tradition that was not available to me with TM was the direct personal experience of the universe within consciousness. For me, consciousness opened to the universe and I began to see different spiritual planes, different heavens and the energetic formations of the universe itself, in addition to seeing Spiritual Beings representing different levels of evolution.
I think because of my understanding of the concept of Enlightenment as expressed in the Vedas, I stayed away from the Spiritual Beings of a lesser level of development and chose to work only with the highest level of beings that were presented to me. I have not been disappointed.
Now I can see into the details of our universe at a fundamental level. I choose to work with Hayehwatha and Vovó Anamalia and let them guide people to see the universe. I am amazed by their wisdom and inspired by their intent to raise the evolution of human life upon the earth.
